Colorado Ag Water Alliance
For three years, the Colorado Ag Water Alliance (CAWA) has been funding farmers and ranchers around the state to experiment with their own ideas to address drought. This program was structured in a way to be accessible for agricultural producers and much easier than other grant programs. There have been nearly 100 projects across the state projects included alternative crops and forages, livestock management, soil health, and innovative irrigation practices. What didn’t work? What obstacles keep agricultural producers from implementing new practices? What practices are the best opportunities to scale up for a larger impact in Colorado?
