May 2026 Lunch Talk
Effects of willow riparian restoration on habitat elements for the Rio Grande Sucker and Rio Grande Chub in North Crestone Creek, CO
Join our May Lunch Talk where we will hear from Brady Smith, an AWRA Colorado 2026 scholarship recipient.
Speaker: Brady Smith
My name is Brady Smith, and I attend Western Colorado University as part of the Master of Science in Ecology program. I work for the US Forest Service as a rangeland technician for the Bridger-Teton and the GMUG National Forests. My passion for ecology stems from my love of nature and my experience of the multitude of ways the American people use our public lands. These lands are vast, complex, and unique, and they must be managed with this in mind. I hope to continue my career in managing lands from a holistic perspective that prioritizes the native flora and fauna as well as benefiting local communities. My research deals with a particularly unique hydrological system in the San Luis Valley, Colorado which has experienced a substantial volume of human-induced change.
